New appointment for the Eyecare Trust

The Eyecare Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Melissa Reeds as its new Membership and Administration Secretary.

Melissa joins the Trust with effect from 30 August when she will succeed Tara Burghardt who has held the position since November 1998.

As announced at the Trust’s AGM in May Tara is leaving to study for a Masters degree at Lincoln university where she plans to lecture on a part-time basis.

Commenting on the changes to the administration of the charity, Iain Anderson, Chairman of the Trust said: “On behalf of the board I’d like to thank Tara for her contribution to the Eyecare Trust over the past eight years and, personally for the support she has given me since I become Chairman. She will be greatly missed and leaves with our very best wishes for the future.”

Iain continues: “I am delighted to welcome Melissa to the team. She has a wide range of skills and experience gained from working in senior administration, finance and customer service roles for a number of private sector companies. She also has a sound understanding of optics having spent three years working as an optical advisor and dispensing assistant.”

Following Melissa’s appointment at the end of August the Trust’s administrative base will relocate to Aylesbury. All contact details for the Trust remain unchanged.
