Kick Off National Eye Week By Meeting The Stars At SWOTY

The Eyecare Trust has a limited number of free tickets to give away to members of the profession who would like to attend the Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2001 awards.

The annual competition is celebrating its tenth anniversary and this year's awards will launch National Eye Week (24-30 September) with a presentation ceremony at London's prestigious Roof Gardens in Kensington High Street, London, on Monday
24 September.

Nominees for awards include Kym, Suzanne and Myleene from the popstars group Hear'Say, the American singer Madonna; Robbie Williams; TV personality Ali G, as well as Jason Barlow from BBC2's Top Gear, Channel 4 Television newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy. Prime Minister Tony Blair has been nominated for a special 'coming out' award and this year's awards programme introduces new categories, including 'Specs to Watch' and 'Kidspecs'.

Admission to the star-studded event - sponsored this year for the first time by French Connection Vision - is strictly by ticket only. The event starts at 11am and the awards will be presented at 12 noon.

The special free ticket offer is available only to Eyecare Trust members who can enter the draw simply by logging onto the Trust website (www.eye-care.org.uk) and entering their details as directed in the 'Profession' pages. The draw will remain open until 10am on Monday 17 September, after which the winners will be drawn at random from those who have registered. Each winner will receive a pair of free tickets.
